Okay this was an absolute gem of a game to play! Love the looping mechanic to beat the game, it was fantastic! So many moments I thought I beat it when it turned out I needed more! Such an awesome game!
Love the vibe. Horror AND intrigue on top of it. Also good writing~.
I don't always see that.
I see a lot of games that's just, "here's you, you're in a dungeon, get jumpscared, solve some vague puzzles that hint at deeper meaning, there's never any deeper meaning, and then we jumpscare you at the end."
I appreciate that your games have an actual story to them. Not just vaguely hinting at "dEePeR mEaNinG", but really having substance and something we can FOLLOW. A base story that establishes what we're doing, why, pulls us in with intrigue, and THEN layering some deeper ideas on top of it if you feel like it.
You really do KNUCKLE DOWN and actually WRITE a story. Excellent work man~. I look forward to seeing more from you!
This is a fun little puzzle! I appreciate how simple and effective it is. There are a few bugs here and there (events not firing properly, I assume), but it's a game jam game, and a good one at that! Props to you, creator!
I finally just beat this game- let me tell you, it takes a lot of attempts and tries to get through it. but its worth it. A few non(ish)-spoilers that will significantly help you:
When he tells you that you only need to mop, thats not actually true, pick up the cans as well if you want the info.
Get a piece of paper, unless you have an absolutely INSANE memory, you're gonna need some help.
Check the trash cans, gross, but check them.
Dont worry about giving that stupid guy the suit, you cant actually give it to him
Those two locked doors by the elevator? Who gives a sh*t?
Drugs are good
Thats honestly all I can think of, and if that mighty list doesn't wanna make you play this game? Im not sure what will
I did the janitorial tasks (cleaned every stain, tossed every can, checked every trash) but Mr. Davis isn't giving me the code. So, uh, that hint guide isn't helping me at all. It's just telling me to do the thing I'm already trying to do, while also semi-spoiling me.
This was great! I had to use the hints sheet, but I really enjoyed it! Very fun and an interesting concept! It was executed well! I made a video if you want to watch it!
Really fun. Though i was confused about the cleaning part because the boss said that i didn't need to pick up the trash but i actually needed to do it to get the elevator code. I made a playthrough too. Hope you guys will watch it
Wow...I had stuck so many times till I have to "cheat" my way with your guide. This game looks horrificly good and can't wait to see your next game. :D
It was an interesting little horror game, albeit its intentional repetitive nature is not my cup of tea. But I understand that it was done that way for the purpose of this game jam, all in the name of a short and sweet experience.
There is also a bug when entering the "E. Smythe" room (nice reference to the previous game by the way) during the alert phase, it reverts back into before the incident happened, but with the lights still off, and the game proceeds with its internal clock anyway.
Good premise, good execution, good aesthetic. A home run all-around I'd say. Exactly the bite-sized entertainment I was looking for. There could be some tweaks in adding more to do in dark phase or saving the document reveal for a little later. It didn't impact my enjoyment in the slightest though.
That's where the "load" function would be in RPG Maker 2k3! Sadly there's some limits in the engine I used and I couldn't take it out-- there's no secret mode or anything, haha. Glad you enjoyed!
Pretty cool smol puzzle-maze game ๐๐๐ Got me a bit more time than expected because I kept forgetting about the papers in the floor, but it was a nice bit-sized experience ^^

Very cool game, the atmosphere and the aesthetic are pretty immersive. Would you like to have a translation in portuguese? I can make it...
